RHAPSODY Agar® is a selective medium used for the enumeration of Pseudomonas spp. in food products and environmental samples.
This method is officially certified by AFNOR Certification for the enumeration of presumptive Pseudomonas spp. in meat products, in comparison to the reference method NF EN ISO 13720 : 2010, under the reference number BKR 23/09-05/15 A and in dairy products, in comparison to the reference method XP ISO/TS 11059 : 2009, under the reference number BKR 23/0905/15 B.

Packaging

Penicillin and Pimaricin Agar (PPA) is a selective medium for the enumeration of pigmented and non-pigmented psychrotophic Pseudomonas in milk, milk products and in dairy environment samples.

King B agar allows the production of fluoresceine (or pyoverdin), a yellow-green pigment that fluoresces under ultraviolet light in certain strains of Pseudomonas. The medium is used primarily in water analysis for the detection and differentiation of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, which produce the characteristic pigment while other species of Pseudomonas do not.

CN Agar for Pseudomonas is a selective medium for the isolation and enumeration of Pseudomonas aeruginosa in bottled water, swimming pools and water destined for human consumption.

CFC Agar is a selective medium for the enumeration of Pseudomonas spp. that frequently contaminates meats and poultry-based products during their cold storage.
The typical composition responds to the standard NF EN ISO 13720, for the enumeration of presumptive Pseudomonas in meats and meat-based products

Cetrimide Agar is a selective medium for the isolation and enumeration of Pseudomonas aeruginosa in biological samples of animal origin and in pharmaceutical and cosmetic products.
Its typical composition is that of the Pharmacopoeia and of the NF EN ISO 22717 for the control of cosmetic products.

Selenite-Cystine broth is used for the selective enrichment of Salmonella in milk and dairy products but also for the characterization of residual sludge It can also be used in animal health for the detection of Salmonella Gallinarum or in water testing.

Principles and uses
Selenite Cystine Broth is used for the selective enrichment of Salmonella spp, and is a modified enriched medium by the addition of the amino acid cystine. This amino acid establishes a redox potential that seems to be very good for the enrichment and recovery of Salmonella and some strains of Shigella, present in limited numbers in feces, diverse foods and other products of sanitary concern.
Selenite Cystine Broth is used particularly to limit the loss of sensitivity that affects other enrichment media especially in food products with a high content of organic material, for example, foods containing egg or egg powder.
Selenite Cystine Broth is recommended for the detection of Salmonella in the non-acute stages of illness when the organisms occur in low numbers in the feces ,and for epidemiological studies to encourage the detection of low numbers of organisms from asymptomatic or convalescent patients.
Selenite Cystine Broth inhibits the early multiplication of bacteria such as Coliforms, but allows the Salmonellae to grow with ease. Peptone mixture is a source of nitrogen, vitamins and amino acids essential for growth. Lactose is the carbohydrate energy source; Sodium selenite inhibits Gram-positive bacteria and most enteric Gram-negative bacteria, except Salmonella. L-Cystine lowers the toxicity of Sodium selenite and adds an additional organic sulphur.
If the broth is to be used immediately, sterilization is unnecessary. Broth which has been tubed and steamed may be kept for months under refrigeration. After a long storage period of the dehydrated medium, the colour of the prepared broth might change to reddish/red. The microbiological performance, however, is not affected.

Preparation
Suspend 23 grams of the medium in one liter of distilled water. Mix well and heat gently until dissolved. Dispense and sterilize by exposing the medium to flowing steam for 5 minutes. Excessive heating is detrimental. Do not sterilize in autoclave.

Môi trường vi sinh AgarCult™ Acetamide Broth ISO 16266

Code: ACEB500

Acetamide Broth contains acetamide which is the sole source of carbon. It is used for the confirmation and identification of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, as specified by the ISO 16266. It uses the ability of non-fermenting Gram-negative bacteria to deaminate the acetamide. The deamination of the acetamide produces ammonia which increases the pH of the medium, acetamide deamination is accomplished by P.aeruginosa, P. acidovorans, Group III
(Achromobacter xylosoxidans), and Alcaligenes odorans.
Acetamide is the single carbon source. The Potassium salt has a high buffering capacity and Sodium chloride supplies essential electrolytes for transport and osmotic balance. Magnesium sulfate, sodium molybdate and iron sulfate allow the selective growth of Pseudomonas in the medium.
It is prepared according to ISO 16266. Pseudomonas aeruginosa is an opportunist pathogen for humans, capable of growing in water with a low concentration of nutrients. This is why natural mineral water and spring water are Pseudomonas aeruginosa free at the time of their commercialization, This mircroorganism can also be found in swimming pool water.
