Dehydrated Culture Media products are formulated to supply the required nutrients to allow for the growth of microorganisms. Used in combination with a variety of selective agents and incubation conditions a wide range of specific organisms can be isolated. With careful raw material selection of the various media components E&O can ensure a consistent level of quality and performance. For each formulation the necessary ingredients are accurately weighed, combined and blended together to produce a homogenous powdered product.

RPF Agar

RPF Agar Base is recommended for the enumeration of coagulase positive Staphylococci from food and animal feeding stuffs. The composition and performance criteria are in accordance with ISO 6888-2:1999 & / Amd 1:2003. This medium works on same principle as Baird Parker Agar with addition of Fibrinogen Plasma together with Trypsin and Potassium Tellurite as single supplement. The medium is used for isolation and enumeration of Staphylococci in food and other material since it allows a good differentiation of coagulase positive strains.Staphylococci appera as white to grey-black coloured colony surrounded by an opaque zone.
