FSTest Feline Herpesvirus (FHV) Rapid Diagnostic Kit is based on sandwich lateral flow immunochromatographic assay. The test card has a testing window for the observation of assay running and result reading. The testing window has an invisible T (test) zone and a C (control) zone before running the assay. When the treated sample was applied into the sample hole on the device, the liquid will laterally flow through the surface of the test strip and react with the pre-coated recombinant antigens. If there are CDV/ CPV/CCV/CAV antibodies in the specimen, a visible T line will appear in the relative window. The C line should always appear after a sample is applied, which indicates a valid result. By this means, the device can indicate the presence of CDV/ CPV/CCV/CAV antibodies in the specimen.

Testing procedure

1. Samples are collected from ocular and conjunctival secretions, nasalfluids and saliva of the Feline using cotton swabs.

2. Immediately insert the swab into the test tube with the sample dilutionand mix thoroughly.

3. Remove the test card, place it on a flat desktop, and use a disposable dropper to draw the upper layer of clear liquid from the test tube and slowlyadd 3-4 drops to the spiking hole.

4. Interpret the result for 5 to 10 minutes at room temperature, results are invalid after 30 minutes.
